Biomedical Instrument based Low Cost Portable Digital Blood Warmer The normal body temperature of human is 37.5 degree Celsius. The slight change of the body temperature can lead to the life threatening condition for the person. Therefore, the body temperature of an individual should be maintained effectively and safely. The blood in the blood bank is safely preserved with low temperatures in the refrigerated condition until time of transfusion. But during administration of this preserved blood it has to be again maintained to human temperature (i.e 37.5) to avoid hypothermia. |

Surface Modification of Biomaterials by Coating with C.Sinesis extract and its Role in Wound Healing The aim of this project is to study the changes that are brought on the surface property of the biomaterial and improve in the biocompatibility of the polymers by coating its surface with the green tea extract. There are various changes in the chemical and surface property when the material is coated with something. Thus we will coat surface of polymer with C.Sinensis extract in order to look for retention of its positive properties for the successful use |

Development of Electrospinning Device for Nanofiber Fabrication The research work on the wound healing, nanowires generation, super capacitor manufactures have not done yet in Nepal due to lack of electrospinning technique. To solve this problem, we are doing a instrumentation project work on electrospinning device for manufacture of nanofibers. |

EEG Signal Processing and Non Invasive Brain Computer Interface for Wheelchair Movement The EEG signal analysis and wheel chair movement based on BCI is prosed in this project. The signals are acquired from the hospital. Then signal is analyzed and processed in MATLAB using different script function and EEGLAB tool box. The online analysis done here consist real time data, and would be implemented on the wheel chair movement. The wheel chair will be provided with five movement controls : left, right, backward and halt. |

6. | Preparation of Injectable Bone Substitute and its Mechanical Testing This research work deals with the collection, calcination of eggshells and preparation of IBS from it. The repair of bone defects in orthopedic surgery has a number of clinical problems. Thus the purpose of this research is to enhance the mechanical strength of bone substitutes using CaS with CaP and TCP. Also using gelatin, the required porosity and flexibility is obtained and using lactic and glycolic acid inject ability is improved. |

7. | Blood Cells Separator In this project separation of RBC and WBC along with plasma is done. Use of digital lock is done to control the separation. Single microcontroller is to use during design of this Blood component. Also main motive of this project is to minimize the existing cost of similar devices found in the market. |

Electrical Muscle Stimulation for Prevention of Venous Thrombosis When an individual is immobilized for an extended period, the venous circulation slows down and this may lead to formation of venous thrombosis. In certain cases of surgery, the patients should be completely bedridden for longer time, in such cases, the active movement of muscle is not possible. Thus we plan this project to provide electrical stimulation for stimulation-induced muscle contraction in order to prevent venous thrombosis. |
